About
Immigrating to Canada from Bosnia at age 7, I began training in dance from age 10, spanning all styles from ballet and modern to contemporary, hip hop and musical theatre. My training has taken me to perform around North America in pieces by Canadian directors Lindsay Nelko, Kristen Sawatzky and Donna Fletcher, as well as having the honor of representing Team Canada at the International Dance Organization (IDO) World Dance Championships in 2008, winning a bronze medal.
Since setting roots in New York, I have performed with various festivals and organizations including the Queensboro Dance Festival, Raw Artists, J Chen Project, Nacre Dance, Gibney ShowDown, for ceramicist Katie Coughlin, and as part of several independent short dance films. My choreography has been presented by the Young Choreographer’s Festival, Six Degrees Dance, Danceworks NYC, as well as music videos for artists Matt Sucich and Noble Kids.
I have served as a Board Member and Producer for National Choreography Month (NACHMO), a non-profit focused on increasing accessibility to the dance arts with hub locations around the US. I currently volunteer with Dance/NYC, a dance service organization based in the values of justice, equity & inclusion.
Expanding my creative practice outside of dance over the past several years, I picked up photography — capturing stories, moments, and feelings through this medium. I also currently make handbuilt + wheel thrown ceramics at Yaro.
